The Dixie Desperados formed in 1976 in Gainesville Florida by three cousins. In 1978 they toured the southeastern US roadhouse circuit. Desperado fans were driving hundreds of miles to hear them play at sold out venues all over the Deep South and by 1979 their hard work paid off as openers/co-headliners for the Allman Brothers, Johnny Winter, Three Dog Night, Charlie Daniels Band, Grinderswitch, Axe, Molly Hatchet, Henry Paul Band, Louisiana Leroux, Doc Holliday, Winters Brothers, Johnny Van Zant Band and Pat Travers. Now, more than 30 years later, Gainesville's own DDesperados are playing shows to promote their second (self titled) CD release to the public on Saturday June 22, 2013. DD's blend influences from the Allman Brothers/Credence/Eagles/Stones and has been Highly Acclaimed and dubbed "COWBOY ROCK". The 11 song disc from the Dixie Desperados features new compositions from the original band members penned in the same classic style that they have delivered to fans since 1976. The album was recorded and produced by producer/songwriter/drummer Stan Lynch at Black Bear Studios in Gainesville, FL. On August 16th 2014 their 3rd Annual Summer Show at the High Dive in Gainesville, Florida located at 210 SW 2nd Ave (downtown) begins at 8pm.
